3d innovations announces enhanced compliance and rights management features for exchanges and trading venues.

3d innovations (3di), a data management software and services firm today announced the release of Profiler version 4, which contains expanded rights management and commercial policy content.

London (UK), 02/10/2017

3d innovations (3di), a data management software and services firm today announced the release of Profiler version 4, which contains expanded rights management and commercial policy content. In addition, 3di is adding a new exchanges and trading venues module, XVTM.

The XVTM module is the first of several planned new content modules targeted at specific services or data types, and builds on the core coverage of Profiler’s existing 900 vendors and 2000 products.

The module now classifies exchanges and trading venues as such (versus ‘data vendors’), including their inherent licensing and pricing policies, so those responsible for licensing have access to comprehensive product, policy and pricing details within the broader business intelligence framework of Profiler. When used in conjunction with appropriate and diligent contract management and data surveillance processes, they can now ensure their firms stay data compliant.

Janelle Veasey, Director of Products & Services, said, “Market data vendor management groups face the daily challenge of staying on top of ever changing exchange and vendor policies, and related commercial and use constraints. Profiler version 4 extends the BAU decision support features of Profiler to help those responsible for exchange and vendor licensing to keep abreast and up to date with a just a few mouse clicks.”

Veasey continued, “For this release, we re-engineered aspects of the code and content base to keep true to the Profiler broader content ideals and in step with its sister product Data Compliance and Dependency Manager (DCDM). Its development was done with imminent and future content modules in mind. While this took us longer than we or the market would have liked, our approach will accelerate future releases such as our advanced indices and benchmark content.”

John Ikel, Head of Compliance & Licensing, 3di, said, “We already had a large number of exchanges within Profiler, both large and small, going back around 10 years in some cases; so to support the more focused exchanges and trading venues module (XTVM), we enhanced the core structure of Profiler content to include more commercial policy information and rights management summaries across unstructured licensing types. What we have now is a richer blend of vendor management and data compliance information. Market data management groups have an extensive mandate to review exchange and vendor policies so content analysis and context need to be aligned – which is exactly what we can now offer in combination with our Data Compliance & Dependency Manager (DCDM).”

3d innovations is holding a series of user groups during Q4 to promote these latest product releases to its existing user base with DCDM version 4 also being released in Q4 of 2017.

3d innovations Hires Industry and IPUG Vet John Ikel to Head up its Data Compliance and Licensing Function

3d innovations (3di), a global data management software and services firm to buy and sell side participants, has hired market data specialist John Ikel from BNP Paribas to head up its main consulting and product unit for data governance.

Marketwired - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, 07/06/2017

3d innovations (3di), a global data management software and services firm to buy and sell side participants, has hired market data specialist John Ikel from BNP Paribas to head up its main consulting and product unit for data governance.

Janelle Veasey, director and co-founder, 3d innovations, said, "We have spent fifteen years engaged in the financial markets building strong expertise in the governance and licensing domain. As part of a natural restructuring required due to the company's continued growth and success, we have brought John onboard to add the wealth of his experience in taking our regtech practice to the next level."

3di reported 20 percent revenue and profit growth in 2016, and struck a number of important partnerships in the industry, notably with Infogix and TRG. As a result of this success and continued market need, Ikel will take over the compliance and policies aspects of ongoing development with 3di flagship products Profiler and Data Compliance and Dependency Manager (DCDM). He will also lead the company's consulting teams in data governance engagements.

"I have been aware of 3di's outstanding competency and successful client engagements in the industry for over a decade. Having reviewed their products and plans, I am enthusiastic and optimistic to join a group of enlightened and dynamic professionals for the next stage of its development," said John Ikel, head of data compliance and licensing, 3di.

In his previous role as head of market data compliance and audit at BNP Paribas, Ikel spent a considerable amount of time reviewing various consultancies and solutions, making internal recommendations where appropriate. As part of the 3di team, Ikel will play a crucial role in the rollout of the company's July release of its new Exchanges and Trading Venue's policies module. The module constitutes the primary upgrade in Profiler version 4 and ensures the policies and rights management data is available within DCDM so that managed applications can be tagged with the appropriate policies.

Ikel said, "Housing all the necessary factors you need to effectively survey data licensing within one analytical dashboard is very important. The fact that DCDM can upload and interface into market data inventories, as well as directly access vendor and exchange policy content is very important. A single application and data management portal is exactly what the industry needs. It's a big move forward in transitioning market data management into a genuine business intelligence function."

Stephen Veasey, 3di CEO and co-founder, will be addressing market data risk management at the FISD General Meeting in New York on June 15, 2017.

3d innovations Starts Mapping the Future of Market Data and Reference Data Management

Upgraded application and data mapping tool now includes enterprise data model to improve app integration and reporting capabilities for buy and sell side institutions

London, UK and New York, NY, 30/09/2015

3d innovations (3di), a data management services company, today released version 3.0 of its Data Compliance and Dependency Manager (DCDM). Part of its 3di Managed Services Suite, the upgraded data compliance tool now supports a full-enterprise data model so buy and sell side participants can rely on DCDM to act as a book of records for any applications using and distributing market data and / or reference data.

“Recording all application data usage, version 3.0 now mirrors the same data used by e.g. trading, risk or portfolio management applications throughout the enterprise,” said Janelle Veasey, Director of Operations & Services, 3d innovations. “We now have the ability to integrate with these applications and structure their data in a way that is consistent with vendor licensing and end-user consumption.”

“Instead of focusing on internal reporting forms such as dashboards and end user data reports, DCDM 3.0 adds business logic. Market participants can now access and compute real application data sets, enabling them to issue accurate vendor, exchange, index provider or broker declarations,” said Janelle Veasey, Director of Operations & Services, 3d innovations.

While the product is still in the early adopter phase, a handful of clients are already running proof of concepts (POC). Company executives expect many of these POCs to transition to full production during the next 12 months.

Janelle Veasey, Director of Operations & Services, 3d innovations, adds, “DCDM 3.0 and solutions like it are the future of effective market data and reference data management. Buy and sell side institutions cannot license and manage data distribution in a compliant and efficient fashion without a clear, holistic view of where the data is and how it is being used in every part of the organization”.
